Silver Dollar Drive-In

Location:  6000 San Mateo NE, E side immediately S of Osuna. Note that street numbering is strange on this stretch, with some even 6000s on S side of Osuna but odd 6000s (starting with 6001) only on N side.
Open:  19??-19??
Screens:  Three (1976)

Of course, the Silver Dollar is no longer with us -- the site is now home to a yupscale apartment complex and a very temporary-looking car dealership. But at the back of the dealership lot is some old-looking tarmac that might have been part of the Silver Dollar, and when there's a lot of cars in the lot you can kind of pretend they're full of people about to watch a movie.

Of note: across the street is Cliff's Amusement Park, which was known as Uncle Cliff's Familyland back when the Silver Dollar was a going concern. I bet lots of families spent the day at Uncle Cliff's and then went over to the Silver Dollar for popcorn, soda, and a Disney flick afterwards. Kinda brings a tear to your eye, don't it?
