On To Santa Fe

Santa Fe is great. I am completely unimpressed by all the garbage that draws in the tourists: the charming natives hawking their wares on the plaza, the marvelous galleries and boutiques. Denim skirts and concho belts give me hives, especially when they're worn by someone sporting a bleached beehive hairdo and a North Dallas accent. I like the laid-back atmosphere, the food (again), and the fact that you only have to drive for a few minutes to get right into the heart of some of the most beautiful country on earth.

Laaaawwwtaburger!
Lotaburger...mmmmmm, vanilla shake!
Ah yes, the food. The Plaza Cafe for greasy American stuff mixed with Greek food and trendy eurosoda, with extra-fine tourist-watching and Frito Pie. The Zia Diner, where Val Kilmer, his squeeze and his posse were hanging out and talking about Robert Downey, Jr. And Blake's Lotaburger.

Mmmmmmmm...Lotaburger. Local chain burger joints: your best Pure Angus Beef value. Dump the Pepsi contract and bring back the Coca-Cola and you'd have utter perfection. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for Thomasitas (great American/New Mexican food, over by the railyard).
