Star Drive-In

Location:  5400 2nd NW, just S of Montaño
Open:  19??-19??
Capacity:  500
Owners:  Video Theatres (19??-19??); listed under "Albuquerque Theatres" in 1966 Yellow Pages

I've probably driven past the site of the Star a thousand times over the past twenty years and never once do I recall having suspected that a drive-in once sat there -- which should give you some idea of what remains: nothing. And take care poking around the lot where it used to be, because now that lot is doing its duty as part of the training center for the Albuquerque Police Department.

Sometime between 1966 and 1976 (I'll pin down exact dates on all this when I have an afternoon to spend in front of the microfilm reader down at the public library) the Star changed its name to the Linda Vista and started showing Spanish-language "adult" movies.
